A 4-piece unsigned Indie/Alternative rock band formed in Dublin in August 2011.
First calling themselves 'The Boxing Social', they changed their name to 'Pelicans' soon after a recording session with RTÉ's Frank McNamara.
Their sound boasts catchy vocals over solid guitar riffs and a powerful rhythm section, with captivating drum beats backed by funky basslines. Often compared to bands such as The Macabees and The Cure, Pelicans appeal to listeners of age and youth.
Finalists of Phantom 105.2 FM's "School of Rock" competition and recently back from a successful gig at L'international Bar and Club in Paris, Pelicans are dedicated to writing, recording and performing as often as possible.
Hailing from all over Dublin, they are currently based in Mount Prospect, Clontarf.
